David Dow

President, Dow Construction

Vice President, D&D Millwork

As the President and Owner of Dow Construction and VP of D&D Millwork, David Dow is a Class A General Contractor with three decades of construction experience. He is a retired US Army Sergeant and Combat Engineer. In his spare time, David’s hobbies and interests include hiking, woodworking and hunting.

Marlene Dow

Taking on our team’s owner responsibilities since 1991, alongside David, Marlene Dow is a Class A General Contractor and Class A Builder with 26 years of construction experience. In her time away from work, Marlene enjoys hiking, cooking and gardening.

Marlene is a LEED AP BD+C, and focuses attention to sustainable projects. Recently Marlene headed the completion of all D&D Millwork submittals and close-out documentation for The Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center, Virginia’s only project attempting both Platinum LEED certification and Living Building Challenge certification

Shannon Shipman

Vice President, D&D Millwork

Shannon Shipman manages the day-to-day finances for Dow Construction and D&D Millwork. Shannon earned her B.A. from Randolph Macon College and has been with us since 2007, offering our team more than eight years of construction industry experience. In her free time, Shannon enjoys diving, hiking and adventure travel.

David Wilkinson

Millwork Division Manager

David Wilkinson is a LEED AP BD+C and joined Dow Construction 15 years ago. He has played an integral role in the development of our millwork division. Not only does he bring leadership to our team, but he also brings many years of experience in cabinet building, finish carpentry and general construction. We are very fortunate to have David as a part of our business.

Sam Lewis

Division 6 Director


Sam Lewis has been in construction industry for over 25 years and has worked for Dow for over five years. After starting in construction with his grandfather, Sam joined the Boston Carpenters Union and completed their Apprenticeship Program. Once Sam received his Journeyman’s Card and moved back to Virginia, he received his Class A Contractor’s License. Sam has OSHA and CPR cards, as well as, certifications to operate a forklift, scissor lift and aerial lift.

Angela Staudt

Project Manager

Angela Staudt has spent the last 15 years on the owner/developer side of the business and brings knowledge and experience to help us continue playing an integral part in ground up construction projects. As part of the project management team, Angela assists in the planning, scheduling and oversight of projects, as well as, acting as a liaison between our company and our clients. Angela earned her B.S. from Regent University. In her free time, Angela enjoys spending time with her family, baking and trips to the country.
